Can you help Nigel?

Hi there I have read your site with extreme interest as my uncle served with RAF Bomber Command and was based at Downham Market in 1943. Sadly he was killed in action overnight of 23rd/24th August 1943, while on a bombing raid over Berlin. I have been tracing his and his crew's crash site in Germany but I have ran out of resources and I do not know who to contact.

However, I am interested in knowing more about the squadron and if any of your members may remember him or knew my late uncle or if any film reel footage or photos exist of the crews prior to the raid itself. My late uncle flew with 218 Sqdn but my late uncle John Basten was assembled as a scratch crew member as an Observer/Bomb Aimer and the night he died was flying in a 263 sqdn machine a Sterling III Bomber I think.
