Downham ATC help 2018 Poppy Appeal
Thanks to the generosity of Downham people and the work of its volunteer collectors the 2018 Appeal raised over £30,500; the highest amount ever collected in our local Poppy Appeal. One group of volunteer collectors who turn out regularly to help with the Poppy Appeal is the local Air Training Corps and, at a recent muster at their Bexwell HQ, they were visited by representatives of the local British Legion Branch who presented them with a certificate, in recognition of their contribution to the 2018 Poppy Appeal. In the course of the Appeal ATC cadets collected £1,669; the second highest amount collected by any group in the Downham area. In presenting the certificate, Peter Mouncer, President of the Downham & District Branch, praised their achievement and thanked them for their continuing commitment to the Poppy Appeal.
