Organisers
of Downham Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal held in the Town Square Downham
Market. The trio pictured at the front, from left are Poppy Appeal co-ordinator
and branch chairman Horace Cross, with Downham Town Mayor and Mayoress John
and Audrey Doyle. They are joined by from left branch president Ivan Sneezum,
Dog Smith, Gerry Waldron, Vera Wilson who is chairman of the RBL Woman's Section
Tinker Taylor, Father Charles Miller and Ron Botham
A poignant cameo moment
during the launch of the Downham Poppy Appeal as a standard bearer lowers
his head in prayers. In the background the town's famous click
tower standard as a reminder to make the most of time. Combine the two
images and we are impelled to remember those who have made that possible,
and we will wear our poppies with pride
